Beth is a passionate and experienced tutor who has worked with students from a variety of educational backgrounds, including Oxbridge applicants, GCSE, and A-Level students. Beth is dedicated to empowering her students, using her background in Social Justice & Education to bring a thoughtful and supportive approach to her tutoring.

    • Supported three Sixth Form History students, two of whom gained Oxbridge offers.

    • Led mock interviews for Oxbridge History and English applicants.

  • Kensington & Chelsea Tutors (2016–present):

    • Tutored GCSE students in Maths, History, and English and A-Level/IB students in History and English.

    • Provided primary school tutoring in Non-Verbal & Verbal Reasoning, Maths, English, Spanish, and French.

  • Carers Hub, Lambeth – Homework Club Coordinator (2020–2021):

    • Provided 1:1 and group tutoring for secondary school students in core subjects.

    • Worked with schools to develop learning plans and improve student engagement.

  • Volunteer Teacher (2017–2019):

    • 150+ hours of volunteer teaching for primary and GCSE students in English.

Beth's Approach to Tutoring

Beth’s approach to tutoring is grounded in her belief that every student can succeed when provided with the right guidance and support. Drawing on her background in Social Justice & Education, she creates a thoughtful and inclusive learning environment that focuses on building confidence and deep understanding. Beth takes the time to get to know each student, tailoring lessons to their unique needs, whether it’s for exam preparation or mastering new concepts. Her emphasis is on fostering critical thinking and ensuring her students feel empowered and motivated throughout their learning journey.

Beth's Personal Interests

Outside of tutoring, Beth has a keen interest in social justice and education policy, which informs much of her teaching philosophy. She is passionate about finding ways to make education more accessible and equitable for all students. In her free time, Beth enjoys reading and engaging with educational research, particularly around issues of race, gender, and social inequalities in education. Additionally, she is an advocate for lifelong learning and enjoys exploring new subjects, which helps her connect with her students on a deeper level.
