Frequently Asked Questions

What if we suspect our child has special educational needs but haven’t had a formal diagnosis yet? If you're concerned your child may have SEN but haven't yet received a formal diagnosis, we can offer initial support by tailoring lessons to their needs. While we cannot diagnose, we work closely with parents to help identify areas where your child may require extra help. If needed, we can refer you to specialists who can assist with the diagnostic process.

Can you help students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)? Absolutely. If your child has an EHCP, we ensure that their homeschooling experience aligns with the plan's requirements. We’ll work closely with you to integrate the specific support, accommodations, and goals set out in the plan. From exam modifications to specialised learning strategies, we provide the personalised attention needed to help your child succeed.

Will my child be able to receive extra time or other accommodations for exams if they are homeschooled? Yes, homeschooled students can still access the necessary exam accommodations, such as extra time, if they meet the criteria. We assist with arranging these accommodations during the exam entry process and ensure that all required documentation is submitted to the relevant exam boards, so your child receives the support they need during assessments.

What types of SEN can your homeschooling service support? We provide tailored homeschooling for a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences. Whether your child requires behavioural support, sensory accommodations, or help with concentration, our tutors adapt their approach to suit your child's unique needs, ensuring effective and compassionate support.

How many GCSEs/A Levels should my child take? The number of GCSEs your child takes will depend on their academic strengths, interests, and future plans. Typically, students take 5-10 GCSEs, but we can help you determine the ideal number based on their individual abilities. We'll work with you to ensure a manageable and tailored approach to their education, with a focus on subjects that align with their future goals.

How can homeschooling benefit children with SEN compared to traditional schooling? Homeschooling provides a flexible, customised approach that traditional schools may not be able to offer. For children with SEN, it allows for learning at their own pace, minimising distractions and stress. We create a comfortable, supportive environment where your child can receive the one-on-one attention they need to thrive, without the social or academic pressures that can arise in larger classroom settings.
