A good start with extra exam tuition in 2017

As Christmas fades, the Spring Term has really got under way this week.

We at Kensington & Chelsea Tutors have restarted interviews for new Tutors following the holidays and can barely keep up with demand. Many London parents are now focusing on the examinations to come. Our Tutors are acutely aware that for Secondary School children the chief focus is the GCSE and A Level examinations looming in the Summer Term.

For our Tutors, getting the correct balance between tutoring the core materials for each subject and working on examination technique, is a key skill. Our Tutors are acutely aware that knowing your subject is not in itself, a guarantee of straight As and A*s in the upcoming exams. Knowing how to tackle questions and manage your time during timed tests is also crucial.

The build up to 11+ school entrance exams is also intensifying, as is competition for the places that our tutees are fighting for.

Every week we recruit more London-based Tutors and with that expanding database we cast the net of our expertise ever wider. Also, with rolling interviews, we engage more and more tutors with specific skills and knowledge. May that be Tutors with knowledge of specific schools, such as City of London (for boys and girls) or North London Collegiate, or possibly Tutors and Teachers with specific Examination Board experience.

We provide Tutors familiar with the most widely used Examination Boards in London schools; AQA, Edexcel & OCR. We also seek expertise in less mainstream boards such as WJEC (Welsh Board) and SQA (The Scottish Qualifications Authority). Even though being London based, we tend to come across these less in the capital, we are always ready if the need arises. CIE (Cambridge International Examinations), which offers qualifications internationally, is also quite popular despite having a reputation for being more demanding than mainstream GCSE and A Level examinations.

Hard work now will reap rewards later in the year!
